The Quantum Nature of Color Perception: Uncertainty Relations for Chromatic Opposition

In this paper, we provide an overview on the foundation and first results of a very recent quantum theory color perception, together with novel about uncertainty relations for chromatic opposition. The major inspiration model is 1974 remarkable work by H.L. Resnikoff, who had idea to give up analysis space perceived colors through metameric classes spectra in favor study its algebraic properties. This strategy permitted reveal importance hyperbolic geometry colorimetry. Starting from these premises, show how Resnikoff’s construction can be extended geometrically rich framework, where concepts achromatic color, hue saturation rigorously defined. Moreover, pure mixed states leads deep understanding opposition role encoding visual signals. We complete our paper proving existence degree opposition, thus providing theoretical confirmation nature perception.
